It takes a village to raise a child
This proverb is widely cited in Igbo and Yoruba cultures of Nigeria. It means that child upbringing is not the sole responsibility of the parents, but a collective effort of the entire community---elders, neighbors, teachers, and extended family all play a a role. It reflects a belief in shared responsibility, guidance, discipline, and cultural continuity. This aligns perfectly with Likkleman Country Club's vision of guiding young children through farming and sports "Jamaica's next leaders grow best with all hands on deck."
